The Bostonians
A portrait and celebration of a town.
The Bostonians is a celebration of those who work and live in Boston and, in some cases, those passing through.
Created over the course of a year, groups and individuals contributed to a body of work that celebrates the town and takes a snapshot of Boston at this particular moment in time through photographic portraits.
Some portraits are the result of a chance, spontaneous encounter, whilst others are the result of an invitation. Each, however, is a reflection of a desire to contribute to a positive portrait of the town. The Bostonians offers a fresh look at a place that is home to creativity, compassion, and community, a town that is diverse, passionate, and worth celebrating.
This series of portraits was commissioned by Transported as part of their ongoing work in Boston Borough as part of Arts Council England’s Creative People and Places programme. @transportedart is a community‑focused programme committed to involving more people in Boston Borough and South Holland in arts, culture and creativity.
